The Swatch x AP Royal Pop LAN BA is one of the cleanest and most wearable pieces from the new Audemars Piguet × Swatch Royal Pop Collection. “LAN BA” translates roughly to “Blue Eight”, and the watch features layered shades of soft sky blue and deeper mid-blue across its Bioceramic case, dial, and crown detailing. Many collectors see it as the most understated colorway in the entire lineup.
The design combines iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak DNA — octagonal bezel, exposed screws, and tapisserie-style dial texture — with Swatch’s retro POP watch concept from the 1980s. Unlike a traditional wristwatch, the Royal Pop pieces are modular pocket-watch hybrids designed to be worn around the neck, clipped to bags, or styled as accessories.
A major highlight is the newly developed manual-wind SISTEM51 movement, visible through the transparent sapphire caseback. The movement uses only 51 components, includes a Nivachron hairspring, and delivers roughly 90 hours of power reserve, making it surprisingly serious mechanically for a Swatch collaboration.
